We have some really exciting news to share with you: our little West Cork beekeeping association won FIBKA’s ‘Association of the Year‘ award for 2022!
Congratulations to you, all of our members! The committee would like to say a huge thank you for all of your enthusiasm and support. It’s amazing that we’ve achieved so much in such a short time, and it’s all thanks to our wonderful group. We look forward to an even better year of beekeeping in 2023!
Here’s what FIBKA said:
The Board of Directors has decided that this award should be made to Fastnet Area BKA in recognition of their outstanding performance over the last year.
Using their energy, enthusiasm and passion for beekeeping, they have created a thriving and fast-growing association with a positive, forward-thinking attitude.
We congratulate Fastnet Area BKA on their outstanding achievements to date and look forward to seeing how the association develops going forward.

Coming Up – Zoom Meeting, 17th August @7.30 pm
We’ll be meeting via Zoom again this month on Wednesday the 17th August at 7.30pm. This month we’ll chat about how we’ve all been doing and look at the all-important topic of preparing your bees for winter. Michael will send the Zoom link out closer to the date, so make a note on your calendars!
